Executive Committee
Judy Keall -- President
Former MP Judy Keall became involved in Rescare through her connections to the issues surrounding the deinstitutionalisation of Kimberley Centre, which was in her electorate. After her retirement from politics she decided to continue her support of Kimberley Centre through the deinst. process, ensuring that the replacement options gave Centre residents the very best alternatives. Judy has been an elected member of the Kimberley Parents and Friends Association since July 2002 and was elected President of the National Body of Rescare NZ. Inc in September 2003.

Heather Sylvawood -- Past President
Heather was heavily involved in the negotiations over the closure of Templeton Centre in Christchurch and was one of the people instrumental in securing good community services for most of the ex-residents of the Centre. One of the triumphs of the campaign was to secure agreement over the Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit (AT&R) which caters for people whose community placement has broken down. This fills a huge gap in community services for people with an intellectual disability which in the past was filled entirely by institutions. Her son lives in Brackenridge Estate, a group of 14 homes run by a charitable company under the direction of Healthlink South (a Crown Health Entreprise or CHE).
